In many ways, I am looking for someone completely different than me. I want to be challenged by my partner in every way; spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically. I have spent the last 23 years with someone very similar to me, and sadly, that got old.
I appreciate musicians and artists so much more because I am not one.
I am drawn to free spirits because I yearn to be one.
I revel in the impractical, because yes, you guessed it, I am oh so practical.
Though there are things that I do want to match in my partner. I truly respect those people who value their health and my fitness like I do. The best was to live long and joyfully is to stay healthy and active. The other area where I am uncompromising is in my liberal leanings. I need my partner to care as deeply for people and our planet as I do. I am not saying we need to join Greenpeace together, but if you voted for G.W.B., then we are on different planets.
The unspoken requirement on all of these sites is physical attraction. I still have the misplaced confidence of the 25 year-old with the six-pack, great hair, and smooth skin, yet looking at my pictures and yours, the women I am attracted to have aged so much more gracefully than I have. I guarantee if you meet me and we connect, you will see where my self-confidence comes from.
My promise to you is that if we meet, I will let you in. I will bear my soul and share my journey. I have taken a tremendous risk by choosing to continue my life down a different path and though I don’t know each twist and turn yet, I guarantee it will be worth the ride.
