I am very serious about my dog--who I would defend with my life--but I try not to get too serious about anything that I don't have to. I am open to what the world gives me.
I recently moved back to Canada after bouncing around the U.S. for 10 years. I studied Journalism in college and I try to work in the field when the opportunity arises, but I've done anything between cleaning horse stalls, dressing up as a Troll doll, running an office and cleaning motel rooms in small-town Wyoming during hunting season (not a good time, I assure you).
I currently freelance as a reporter and copy editor and I don't leave home without my red pen. Though, I have often said that the most dignified job I've ever had was cleaning up horse poo because I was serving a very real and needed purpose for noble, uncomplicated creatures. They appreciated my efforts and they never gave me grief or played passive-aggressive mind games. I fed them in the mornings and cleaned their stalls in the afternoons. I was part of their process and their daily ritual.
Growing up, I was a punk rock kid raised on horror movies, spending much of my time reading. I tend to get along best with men because I can't handle the catty girly thing. So, if you like pretence and being told what you want to hear as part of the courting dance that leads to you being clenched by the psychic ball sack, I am not the girl for you. I am fiercely independent, but I am also fiercely loyal, trustworthy and I like to laugh. More than anything, I like great conversation and a lot of laughs.
